Estimados propietarios:
Hemos decidido contratar a Atlantir.

Dear Owners,
As you know, we have experienced a number of issues with the pool.
We were legally bound by a contract with our previous pool company, and ending it incorrectly could have cost the urbanisation thousands of euros. We remained in constant contact with the company owners, who made many promises but delivered very little.
Thanks to the diligence of several owners, who discreetly monitored the pool staff’s arrival and departure times, as well as the work they did—or did not do—while at Iria V, we gradually built a strong case against the company.
The situation came to a head when the pool had to be closed for two days and was still dirty again within 48 hours. This was completely unacceptable.
We brought in independent companies to assess the situation and, importantly, they provided written reports. As a result, we terminated our contract on Monday, 10 August.
In light of all the evidence, the original company has fully accepted its failings and will not pursue Iria V for any outstanding payments up to the end of the contract. This is a major success for the community.
An emergency pool technician came in and managed to restore the pool within a short period of time and keep it open. We are extremely grateful to him—he did an excellent job.
We would have liked him to become our new pool technician. However, during the winter, the pool will need to be closed, drained and tested. He would need to subcontract this work, and we feel it is better for one company to take full responsibility for the entire process.
We have chosen to proceed with Atlantir. They have an excellent reputation, all the necessary technical equipment, and sufficient staff to meet all our needs. They also maintain a nearby pool which is in excellent condition and is a real credit to them, so we are feeling positive about the future.
The monthly cost to the urbanisation will be very similar to what we have already been paying. However, we will need to purchase some new equipment, and as mentioned, the pool will need to close at some point during the winter.
The community bank account is in good order. We have also saved money this year by having the gardening team clean the pool surroundings regularly. This has meant that we have not needed the expensive deep cleaning previously required, nor have we needed to import cleaning materials from the UK, which was also an additional cost.
Thank you all for your patience. I know this has been a nightmare, but we needed to proceed carefully to avoid incurring legal costs.
Special thanks go to Karen Weston from number 4, who has handled all the on-site work. As I live and work full-time in the UK, I am not in Spain to deal with these matters directly. Karen has been fantastic, and this would not have been resolved so quickly without her.
Thank you also to Sheila and Pete for monitoring—“spying” ?—and recording the times, as well as the work completed and not completed, over a period of weeks.
Finally, thank you to Amanda at the administrators, who dealt very firmly with the previous pool company and left them with no option but to step away gracefully, without a dispute.
It is our urbanisation, our pool and our money, and we want everything to look beautiful.
Onwards and upwards! I have already been told that things are looking better.
Just a final note: Please, please, please shower thoroughly before entering the pool. Sunscreen was a small part of the issue, and this is something that can be easily resolved.
